Taylor Swift Stuns Fans With ‘1989’ Surprise: Taylor Swift had an electrifying surprise in store for fans at her last Los Angeles Eras Tour concert on Thursday.
During an intimate acoustic set, the pop icon revealed plans to release 1989 (Taylor’s Version) on October 27th. It was a bombshell announcement for Swifties who have eagerly awaited the re-recording of her 2014 Grammy-winning pop breakthrough.

“You guys have made this re-recording journey so special for me,” Swift shared onstage. “Your support since I was a teenager dreaming of owning my work means everything. I’ll never stop thanking you for embracing this fight as your own.”

Teasing the news, Swift sported 1989-inspired costumes in shades of blue throughout the show. Fans roared as she then unveiled the album art and launched into “New Romantics.”
Later on Instagram, Swift promised the re-release will include “insane” unheard tracks. “I can’t believe they were ever left behind,” she wrote. “But not for long!”
Earlier in the evening, Swift got emotional about ending the U.S. leg of her tour. “This has been the most extraordinary, fun, wonderful experience of my life,” she told the crowd.
After “Champagne Problems,” fans erupted in an deafening 8-minute standing ovation. “You’re playing with my emotions right now,” a touched Swift responded. “I love you so much.”
Swift, who reportedly gifted her crew $55 million in bonuses, kicked off the Eras Tour in March. She has kept fans riveted with a hits-packed setlist and surprise appearances by special guests.
Throughout the tour’s run, Swift’s shows have attracted famous fans like Gigi Hadid, Meghan Markle and Reese Witherspoon. But her most special guests have always been the fans.
