The Royal Family’s Latest Silence on Meghan Markle’s Birthday May Signal They Are Done Feeding Feud Speculation

Meghan Markle’s Birthday May Signal: Meghan Markle turned 42 on Aug. 4 and was spotted celebrating in Montecito with husband Prince Harry. However, not everyone publicly recognized her birthday this year, possibly for a strategic reason.
The royal family let the day pass without any mention of Meghan on social media. Perhaps they sent a private message (or not), but it’s evident the palace wants to move beyond recent headlines. Even a reference to the Sussexes on their Twitter invites frenzy from British tabloids. This conspicuous omission, at least publicly, feels like King Charles III’s formal way of moving forward.
This new approach diverges vastly from last year, when Meghan’s 41st birthday was acknowledged by Prince William and Kate Middleton. They wrote on Twitter with a photo of Meghan, “Wishing a happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!” Charles and Camilla’s Clarence House account also sent warm wishes.
Meghan wasn’t the only Sussex omitted from birthday messages; Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet also went unrecognized this year. If Prince Harry, whose birthday is Sept. 15, is also left off birthday posts, it’s clear Charles ordered the royal family to stop mentioning the couple online. It only stokes an already inflammatory royal fire.
