Henry Winkler Calls This a ‘Very Scary Time’ for the U.S.

Actor Henry Winkler says the United States is facing a “very scary moment” in light of recent events like Donald Trump’s booking in Georgia.
Speaking at a fundraiser, the ‘Happy Days’ star said the country is in frightening times following Trump’s indictment and surrender to authorities last week. Winkler remarked, “This country is at a very scary moment.”
The 77-year-old Winkler, known for playing Fonzie, has been an outspoken Trump critic. He participated in a virtual Happy Days reunion benefitting Wisconsin Democrats in 2020.
In 2017, Winkler commented that Trump seemed disconnected and lacked empathy. He said he didn’t enjoy disliking Trump but wished things were different.
Winkler’s latest remarks come after Trump was indicted on 13 counts over election interference in Georgia and turned himself in. Reflecting on current tensions, Winkler reiterated that no one is above the law.
He also questioned how Americans could dislike each other so strongly over differences in viewpoint. Winkler said that level of division is insane and essentially the definition of insanity itself.
