Fans Rally Around David Foster and Katharine McPhee as They Deal With a “Horrible Tragedy in Our Family”
David Foster and Katharine McPhee are coping with an unexpected tragedy in their family, and Katharine announced she’ll be traveling home and missing their final two shows in Jakarta.
Katharine shared the news on Instagram, writing “Dearest Jakarta fans, it’s with a heavy heart I must miss our last two shows of our Asia tour. David and I have endured a terrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us needs to return home to our loved ones. Please know how sorry I am and how much I hope to come back one day and perform for you all. Love Katharine.”
She did not specify what was happening back home, but received an outpouring of support from fans and fellow celebrities, including Nicole Scherzinger who wrote “sending my love and prayers for your family,” and Amanda Kloots, who added “Sending you loads of love. Keeping you guys in my thoughts.”
David Foster’s ex wife Linda Thompson also wrote a message saying “Sending you and David love, & hoping that everything will be okay.”
David and Katharine have been together since 2017 and married in 2019. They share a one-year-old son, and David also has five daughters from previous relationships. Wishing the whole family strength as they go through this difficult time.
