Britney Spears is reportedly covering the cost of her estranged husband Sam Asghari’s new $10,000-per-month apartment, as the couple continues to go through a difficult divorce.
Asghari packed his bags and left the singer earlier this month, after the two had an argument over allegations that Spears cheated on him with a staffer, reports TMZ. It’s still unclear if the rumor had any merit.
The couple originally met in 2016, when Asghari was hired to act in Spears’ music video for her single “Slumber Party.”
Although Asghari officially filed for divorce on Aug. 16, just a day after moving out, Spears is said to be footing the bill for his new L.A. crash pad, located in one of the most expensive apartment complexes in the city.
Spears and Asghari are not talking to one another, sources said, but people close to Spears allegedly convinced her that covering the cost of the apartment would be a nice gesture.
It was previously reported that Asghari’s lawyer has plans to challenge the couple’s prenuptial agreement.
If they continue with divorce proceedings, the process will likely end with Spears writing a hefty check to her ex, with sources speculating it would be upwards of several hundred thousand dollars.
The two have already made plans for how they will split up their pets. Asghari will reportedly keep their Doberman, named Porsha, while Spears will hold onto their remaining 4 dogs, including an Australian Shepherd and new puppy.
Spears addressed the news of their split on Instagram over the weekend, saying “I’m not here to explain why because its [sic] honestly nobody’s business!!! But I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly!!!”
Spears has a small support system to help her during this time, with just her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, and manager, Cade Hudson, reportedly remaining in her corner.
However, sources say she’s attempting to mend the relationship with her father, Jamie Spears, despite their difficult past and their battle over her conservatorship. The elder Spears has reportedly been dealing with some scary health issues recently.
